The Kat Hat

Sister #1 requested a white beanie about a year ago. My first attempt, a simple 1x1 ribbed pattern began while I was in Gold Coast for the marathon. At that time, I failed to check the weight of the yarn needed and the beanie turned out to be baby-sized, looking like a skull cap when worn. I think one of the teddy bears at home own it now.

Anyway, I came across Kim Hargreaves' hat pattern and it was love at first sight. Knit in the round using 2 strands of DK yarn, it was a fun Anzac weekend project. I have decided that I do not like P3tog though. The fabric is a little stiff, but I expect it to keep our heads warm during winter! (yes I will be wearing it too :P) Would love to make another one if I can get my hands on some Rowan Kid Classic.

Was too excited to block before taking the picture.

The sister is happy.
